Avian biodiversity monitoring, Mkuyu Guide School, Tungamalenga, Tanzania
Mkuyu Guide School students (led by director Leonard Fidelis) conduct regular all-occurrence sampling of avian species encountered during weekly transects along a wildland-agricultural boundary in central Tanzania. Together, we established a protocol for recording these detections and uploading them to eBird.org, to draw attention to the rich birding opportunities available in Tanzania's community-managed Wildlife Management Areas, and to contribute to the long-term monitoring of avian diversity in rural Tanzania.
